FMCA BENIFITS

Holiday greetings to everyone

and we hope to see all of you at the January rally (remember, if you haven't told Joan Reitz yet, she needs to know by Saturday).

As promised, here is your friendly reminder regarding the new FMCA benefit that goes into effect January 1st.

On page 36 and continuing for a few more pages, of your current Family Motor Coaching magazine is the summary of benefits. Also, on page 37 are two benefit cards to cut out and carry with you. This is a great benefit that comes free with your FMCA membership. So, read, clip and be informed.

Happy Holidays,

Fay

SPRING RALLY INFO

As most of you know, the Reitz and the Friedman's have volunteered to host our January rally in conjunction with the Western Area FMCA rally in Indio. Having been contacted by several people, I felt I should pass on the following info to the group and hope I am not stepping on the Reitz and Friedman's shoes.

The form for registering for the FMCA part of the rally can be found in your FMCA magazine (Oct, Nov, or Dec) or on the FMCA website www.fmca.com. You can register via mail, email or by phone. The pre-reg date is up to 12/30/10 afterwards you can still register, but it will cost you $10 more.

ALSO HERE
http://gmc49ers.com/feb07/next.pdf

If you have any questions about this, please fell free to contact the Reitz, Friedman's or me. The information regarding the 49ers part of the rally will be coming to you from either the Reitz or the Friedman's.

Hope to see everyone there

ALAMEDA RALLY TECH TOPICS

A new Skirt Lifter Kit was introduced at the GMC 49ers 34th anniversary Harbor Holiday Rally at Alameda, California.

If you have installed the quadra bag system, you need to check out the new Skirt Lifter Kit which allows you easily hinge open the OEM GMC skirts anytime to inspect, adjust and clean your quadra bag system.

This complete kit was developed by John Chalfant for his 1978 Birchaven and has been road tested for over five thousand miles. The kit utilizes stainless steel continuous hinges to attach the top of the skirts to the coach, and a special magnetic latch assembly which holds the bottom of the skirt firmly in place. The magnetic latch is rated to hold 16 lbs.

The kit is available from Applied GMC for $149.95 and it includes complete installation instructions. It takes less than two hours to install using simple hand tools.

Now you can lift your skirts and show em what you/ WEve got! Check your line and airbag pressures, twist your valves and rinse off those airbags anytime!"

TI TECH TOPICS

                                                       TI TECH  TOPICS

Even though there were no tech presentations, there were a lot of impressive tech topics

MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT
Carlo and Stephen (new owners since Auburn) have a newly installed (by them), - rebuilt engine.   During one of the moves at TI,  the engine quit.  A bunch of GMCers helped push the GMC into a parking space and this amazing Duo, ( with the help of DougJ and others) located the problem as a mechanical fuel pump failure (a new unit) and the young owners, attacked and replaced the pump while the Blue Angles flew over their Coach.   Way to go, and a nice technical presentation at the same time ;>)

GMC BRAKING AND AIRBAG SYSTEMS - AT AUBURN

http://www.appliedgmc.com
CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE FOR  GMC BRAKING AND AIR BAG SYSTEMS

APPLIED GMC DESIGN TEAM ( shown with Dual Bag)
Chuck Aulgur, JimK, Rick Flanigan,  friend and Mechanical Designer.

AULGUR --REACTION ARM --BRAKE SYSTEM
Rick offered to take his personal coach with the Aulgur Reaction Arm System and the Limited Slip Differential .to the Crusiers rally. We were able to do a panic stop, but the Park staff made us quit as we
went over 35MPH and violated the 5 MPH limit. JimK

Read here to see what they will be talking about at Auburn.
http://tinyurl.com/2azpkz3

There will be a small fleet of GMCs with the Reaction Arm System at the rally,
maybe you can score a test drive?

Auburn fairgrounds has a relatively large parking lot where JimK will demonstrate the difference between a good stock braking and the reaction arm system.  Jim tried this at the rally at Morro Bay last weekend and and was almost thrown out of the park for exceeding the 5MPH limit.  This doesn't have to be a high speed comparison. The difference between the stock tendency to have a front end dive and a rear rise vs the reaction arm level braking is quit evident.
Come see it.  FrankC

AUBURN -- FROM THE PREZ.

Come join us in Auburn if you can work it out.

We still have room, come by car or motorhome

Meet some "Experts" and some really nice people.
There is no charge unless you stay overnight(s) or join us for food. Call or e-mail or mail the form on the GMCWS.org under events.

AUBURN -- NUBIES ---

there are a bunch of Left coast Nubies. I have sort of lost count, and a bunch of them are Lurkers. You are a Nubie, if you feel like one , (I do, and I have been at this for over 10 years;>)

I don't know how many were at the GMCMI ( since they don't report anything about the rally;>) but the rumor is it was more than 10)

there is a lot of FUD factor that goes on here, on the net,and we often scare off the new folks we want to stay.
Fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD)

A few of us,(the vocal, technical, types) do most of the posting on the net, and yet, there are 7,000 other owners out there , not on the net. It is often lost, about ; "what am I getting myself into?" that has always plagued the new owner.

THERE IS MORE TO GMC LIFE THAN THE GMCnet) - not for me, but for lots of new folks.

So I am inviting your to come to AUBURN - meet the real folks, ask the experts, and see what people are doing and using their GMCs for... fun and learning.

http://www.gmcws.org/events.htm

This is where you: find GMC things, find sources, see things, meet GMC folks, meet each other, it is a real learning experience.

Have you ever looked a (one-name person like "Manny" in the eye?)

I hope you come, and I hope you learn
