ALAMEDA RALLY TECH TOPICS

A new Skirt Lifter Kit was introduced at the GMC 49ers 34th anniversary Harbor Holiday Rally at Alameda, California.

If you have installed the quadra bag system, you need to check out the new Skirt Lifter Kit which allows you easily hinge open the OEM GMC skirts anytime to inspect, adjust and clean your quadra bag system.

This complete kit was developed by John Chalfant for his 1978 Birchaven and has been road tested for over five thousand miles. The kit utilizes stainless steel continuous hinges to attach the top of the skirts to the coach, and a special magnetic latch assembly which holds the bottom of the skirt firmly in place. The magnetic latch is rated to hold 16 lbs.

The kit is available from Applied GMC for $149.95 and it includes complete installation instructions. It takes less than two hours to install using simple hand tools.

TI TECH TOPICS

                                                       TI TECH  TOPICS

Even though there were no tech presentations, there were a lot of impressive tech topics

MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT
Carlo and Stephen (new owners since Auburn) have a newly installed (by them), - rebuilt engine.   During one of the moves at TI,  the engine quit.  A bunch of GMCers helped push the GMC into a parking space and this amazing Duo, ( with the help of DougJ and others) located the problem as a mechanical fuel pump failure (a new unit) and the young owners, attacked and replaced the pump while the Blue Angles flew over their Coach.   Way to go, and a nice technical presentation at the same time ;>)
